what mental health is discussed?
in the show I will be showing chapters with mental health issues such as anxiety depression and the main protagonist will suffer from PTSD and the themes and classic symptoms of these mental health issues will be displayed in the characters and the way in which they act.
I will likely make it more obvious to An audience what the mental health issues are and label them in the show so that the audience initially knows without being left int he dark about those things. so when introducing the characters own slide two it will be given straight away labelling the mental health issues and the symptoms that he suffers from when having serious episodes of mental health. the way in which the mental health problems will be displayed also through the way that it affects the people around him and the people he sees in his day to day life including occasions inter tv how where he will miss out on parts of his education by not attending school and struggling to attend social events like kitty birthday that mean a lot to her and this inevitably causes issues within their relationship.
will the tv drama be themed as a romantic or toxic plot and will we want to characters to end up together?
the tv drama is a romantic plot as a young couple learns the ways and what relationships can involve and how they can lear from past mistakes they made during the relationships they have had in order to better the relationship between the two of them so its likely an audience will be rooting for them to end up together and be 'endgame'.
By adding flash backs of the couple happy and displaying good aspects to the relationship as well as showing an audience they are only toxic to themselves that affects each other rather than to each other so that an audience would want the to be together as apposed to apart as they support each other and themselves better when they are together. particular moment like Alfie struggling and kitty just being around him and it being a calming thing for him where he Is then able to sleep and relax due to her presence shows to the audience that they are bale to support one another with will make the audience root for them as a couple for the benefits of their own metal health.
is the mental health labelled because if it isn't it needs to be to explain to an audience?
the mental health aspect was initially going to to subtle and only show the main and key breakouts to an audience that ideally they would start to understand wha is happening to the characters and why they re acting the way they are.
to adapt this I will incorporate a scene that clearly will display to the audience that my character suffers from PTSD to help make is a staring out and labeled theme in the drama but also make sure that the audience can see through his actions like missing family occasions and other events in the show the show how his mental health effects his actions and the way he lives his life when in production of the show and on set I will aim to have a mental health representative to ensure that the issues can be portrayed accurately and correctly to help an audience see the realities of the issues In ways like my character isolating himself from support around him and not leaving the home or accepting aid from kitty.
will Alfie and kitty be the main focal point of the tv show?
the two characters will be the main focus of the drama and after feedback I think its probably more important to focus on their drama romance and plot rather than overcomplicating it with other character and plot lines that may distract from the main plot and themes.
to adapt my show I will likely adapt some episodes and aspects of the drama t ensure that the main plot doesn't become overtaken by back storylines that are going on and ensure that there is no audience following any other plot but kitty and Alfies in the show the adaptation would be done by including more scenes of the couple and creating Sasha and Emma as more of supporting background characters. the characters will likely not appear to have their own scenes for lengthy durations of time unless they are discussing kitty and Alfie or doing something that would relate to the eg going out with Alfie to buy kitty birthday presents. this will ensure that these characters are entirely background characters and in no way have the own plot line or as important of a narrative that kitty and Alfie do with their romance and metal health.
how are you going to use the cliffhanger is it need to be explained better to the audience?
the cliffhanger at the end will show the couple in a heated argument with suggestive accusations being made from both parties and the season will end on a powerful line that will be shcoking but also confusing to the audience so that ideally they will watch to the nest season in hopes that they will be forced t watch the next season to explain what is happening and what has happened.
I will not change the last scene to explain the argument and display the entire thing as it wouldn't create a strong enough cliffhanger for the show to gain viewers on the next season by explaining the argument and plot that caused the argument would inevitable spoilt the cliffhanger as an alternative I will display to the audience 3 different potential causes that could have created the conflict and the audience can make their choice as to what they believe it would have been the 3 potential issues will be flashbacks of certain scenarios that were displayed throughout the show and will be given slightly more contextual to ensure that there is enough context for the audience to create their own personal conclusion of what they believe caused the argument and conflict between the pair.
how would you avoid controversy's about such a sensitive topic like mental health like what happened in 13 reasons why?
in my tv show I do tackle sensitive and tough topics but I didn't consider the potentially dangerous affects that the content could have on a young or passive audience of the tv show.
To avoid the controversy I will add help lines and phone numbers that would provide help of the audience if they needed it at any point of watching the show author end of each episode a small clip will display one of the actors sharing a heartfelt and motivational message on seeking help and how It is so important that if ay of the themes in the episode affected them then they should seek help. along with routes that people can take to offer support we will also try to ensure that all actors and staff are made aware of support themselves that they may need after acting out such a role with sensitive issues like the ones raised in their characters.
could captive be brought In for Sasha and Emma a-swell so there aren't too many flashbacks?
